CONGO LAKE KIVU (WOMEN PRODUCERS)

A dynamic, juicy coffee full of florality and sweetness! This lot is produced by 51 Congo Pygmy women from the villages of Mishebere and Ruhunde, in the Kalehe region west of Lake Kivu. The plentiful rainfall and mild climate create ideal conditions for producing high quality coffees. Growers are directly paid a premium, as part of the Women's Coffee Project, an initiative started in 2009 by the SOPACDI organization--the first cooperative in the Democratic Republic of Congo to be Fairtrade and Organic certified.
